About VoiceType
What is VoiceType
VoiceType is a Chrome browser extension that appears when you hit Compose or Reply in Gmail. It activates the microphone so you can describe what you want to write, and the AI generates the full email for you. It is not a dictation or transcription tool; you speak naturally as you would to a personal assistant. The tool is designed for anyone who finds writing emails time-consuming or difficult, including those with dyslexia or non-native English speakers.
Key features
VoiceType offers several key features. It uses speech recognition that works with accents, so you don't need to be a native English speaker. It provides contextual replies by tailoring the email to the existing thread. The AI ensures your emails are grammatically correct and free of spelling errors. It is a lightweight extension that integrates seamlessly with Gmail. The tool forgets your data after generating the email, and no personally identifiable information is stored.
Use cases
VoiceType is useful for various scenarios. You can quickly reply to clients about payment issues, request fee increases, decline additional work, or ask for deadline extensions. It helps users who struggle with writing due to dyslexia or other challenges, allowing them to send professional emails without worry. It also benefits those who write many emails and want to be more productive. The tool is currently available for English only, with more languages planned later this year.
Pricing
VoiceType offers a free trial for the first 100 sign-ups. The page does not provide detailed pricing information beyond the free trial offer.
