About VEST AI
What is VEST AI
VEST AI is a platform that provides a transparent database of startup equity offers and their outcomes. It is designed for employees who are evaluating a new equity offer or who already hold equity and want to understand its potential value. The tool uses a community-contributed dataset to show how similar offers have performed, giving users a realistic view of what their equity might be worth.
Key features
The platform allows users to add their offer by uploading an offer letter or entering details manually. It then shows a distribution of outcomes based on 100 similar offers, illustrating the range from failure to high returns. Users can also compare their grant to others for the same role and stage, seeing whether it is above or below the median. The tool requires no account and provides results in under a minute.
Use cases
VEST AI is useful for job seekers who want to evaluate a startup equity offer before accepting, and for current employees who want to understand the potential value of their existing equity. It can also help users benchmark their offer against industry standards, providing context for negotiations. The community aspect means that as more data is added, the estimates become sharper and more reliable.
