The workflow has three steps. First, choose an image from your device or load the built-in sample; the file stays on your device and is never uploaded. Second, paint over the area you want removed, going slightly past the edges so the fill can blend naturally.

Third, the filled result appears beside your original for comparison, and you can save it as a PNG. Images are scaled to at most 512 px on the long edge for processing, and the download matches that working size. The algorithm copies real pixels from the surrounding photo, similar to a restorer using tracing paper, so it works best on repetitive or simple backgrounds.

The tool performs best on objects, people and text against repetitive or simple backgrounds such as walls, grass, water, sky, pavement and bokeh. Watermarks and dates on fairly flat areas disappear almost invisibly.

It struggles with large holes over complex, detailed scenes. Because the fill is borrowed texture rather than invented content, big removals over busy backgrounds can look smeared. Removing the same object in smaller pieces often helps. The tool does not generate new content, which makes it a predictable and private option when you need edits that stay faithful to the original photo.

AI Inpainting Tool is free to use. There is no account, no quota and no watermark on the download. Filling runs on your own device, so there is no server cost to pass on to users. The page states that the tool is free, requires no signup, and produces no watermark on the saved PNG.
