About AI Music Generator
What is Gikken
Gikken is an indie software development team based in Berlin, Germany. They are known for creating apps for iOS and macOS, with a focus on developer tools and language learning. Their most popular product is Mate Translate, a translation app. They also developed Tokens, a tool for generating promo codes for iOS and macOS apps, which was recently acquired by MetaVentures.
Key features
Gikken's products are designed with a focus on user privacy and simplicity. For example, they removed third-party login from Mate to protect user privacy, allowing users to create native accounts for secure syncing. They also value fair pricing, as seen in Tokens 2, which was adjusted based on user feedback. Their apps are available as one-time purchases rather than subscriptions, which is an old-school but effective business model.
Use cases
Gikken's tools serve different purposes. Mate Translate is for language learners and travelers who need quick translations. Tokens is for iOS and macOS developers who need to generate promo codes for their apps. They also had other apps like Breaks for Eyes, which helps users take breaks, and Reji, a language learning app, though these have been discontinued or transferred to other owners.
Pricing
Gikken's apps are sold as one-time purchases. For example, their Mac app is priced at $29.99 and the iOS app at $9.99. They do not use subscription models for their main products. Tokens 2 offers different pricing tiers, including options for 50 codes or unlimited codes, to cater to different marketing needs.
